The Jobtree Online's Privacy Policy Statement All of your Personal Information will be kept private by us (although we reserve the right to disclose this information in the circumstances set out below). We'll store it on a secure server and adhere to all current Sri Lankan data protection and consumer laws. When using this website to do a search, we will ask you for Personal Information such as your name, e-mail address, billing address, delivery address, telephone number, product selections, credit card or other payment information, and a password, which we will collect.


We may also collect information about where you are on the internet (e.g., the URL you came from, IP address, domain types, your browser type, the country and telephone area code where your computer is located, the pages of our website that you viewed during your visit, the advertisements you clicked on, and other information ("User Information"). Even if you do not register with us, we may collect this information.

You should be aware that this site is being watched and that information about your visit may be collected to help us improve our service. We confirm that any Personal Information you supply to us (or that is publicly available) and any User Information from which we can identify you is held in line with our Data Commissioner's Office registration.

When you create an account

You will be given the choice to receive information from us by post, e-mail, or telephone about products, promotions, or special offers that we believe may be of interest to you when you create an account online.


1.You can simply create your account by using your email and password
A. Login via Google account
We are using your google account name, email and profile image to create your account. Once you create an account we are just matching your email with a linked google account. Your google profile related information only used for your authentication. Any time you can delete this collected data by sending email to [email protected]
B. Login via Facebook account
We are supporting you to connect your facebook account with Jobtree profile only for authentication purposes. We collect your email and name and profile image to create your Jobtree membership.

Name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, and gender.

Professional information

Organisation/employer/educational institution, curriculum vitae (resumé), qualifications, references.

Your preferences, interests and location

We may keep a record of what you have told us about how you like to be contacted (e.g. by emails only) and what you would like to receive (e.g. information about our conferences, courses or publications). Sometimes we collect information about topics that interest you (e.g. tuberculosis or tobacco control), and your location, so we can contact you about topics that are relevant to you.

Your affiliations

Any additional relevant information you submit with us about yourself, such as your affiliations with connected organizations or your employer, may be collected and recorded (processed). We keep track of any relevant affiliations you may have, especially for employment and membership services.

You can modify your marketing settings at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in the footer of our emails, or writing, emailing, or calling us. Section 10 (How can I contact Jobtree regarding its privacy policy?) has all the details.

We may use profiling to make a service more suitable, effective, and beneficial to you in order to personalize our messages in line with your preferences. This profiling is consistent with the information we claim to gather from you in Section 2 of this policy (What personal information do we collect?).


Unless you expressly provide permission, Jobtree will not sell or disclose your personal data with any third parties, and you will not receive marketing from any other companies or organizations as a result of providing us with your information. Furthermore, we will not sell any information about your web browsing habits to third parties.


You are under no obligation to provide us with your personal data.  However, if you wish to benefit from a service, sign a contract with Jobtree, or use our websites, there is some information that you will need to provide.

If you do not submit such information or let us access it, this may prevent us from being able to provide you with products and services, or otherwise interact with you.

Before we gather such information, we'll let you know where it's needed. In connection to your personal data, you have the following rights.

Access: The right to request access to and have a copy of your personal data and to find out how your data is being used and how we obtained your personal data

Modification: You can ask us to update or change the data we have about you

Rectification:  You can have any inaccuracies in your personal data corrected. This includes the completion, updating or deletion of personal data that is inaccurate or which is out of date

Erasure (“right to be forgotten”):  You can ask us to delete all your personal data in certain circumstances via email [email protected] (e.g. if the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected).

Objection: You can object to us processing your personal data in certain circumstances

Portability: You can ask us to transfer your personal data electronically to you or another organisation in certain circumstances

Restriction: You can ask us, subject to some verifications, to restrict the processing of your personal data if you think, inter alia, your personal data is not accurate or no longer needs to be processed by us for some specific purposes

Withdrawal of consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you can withdraw consent at any time


When  Jobtree becomes aware of the death of a person, their personal data will be deleted. You have the right to complain to the relevant supervisory authority or court.


Jobtree works hard to ensure our physical and technical systems are secure. We take careful precautions to protect all personal data on our database, including using encryption and monitoring access to our secure networks and systems.

We also make sure that the technologies we use to process your payment information, such as your credit card or debit card information, are secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet, despite our best efforts to protect your personal data electronically. Jobtree will not be held liable for data that has been improperly intercepted or altered after it has been provided.


We will only store information about you for as long as we need it to fulfill the objectives for which we are processing your personal data whenever we collect or process it. Your personal information is kept on file for as long as you have a Jobtree account. Beyond that, we will only preserve your information if it is permitted by the data protection regulations of the country in which it is processed. Your data will be destroyed or anonymized at the end of the retention term.
