Job Description — IT Engineer

Role Summary

‘The main purpose of this role is to provide a professional, friendly, and efficient internal IT support service. As a member of the IT Team, you'll be assisting with and owning support tickets to resolution, as well as consulting with third party vendors to resolve more complex issues. It willbe your responsibilty to share knowledge with colleagues and end users.

We're looking for someone who is ambitious and eager-to-learn to establish a long-standing career with us. The role is, technical so it will be important to show demonstrable experience of the skills and experience required across the recruitment process.

Providing First to Third support.

‘Taking ownership of problem management for end-to-end resolution, liaising with the team and 3" party support where required

Monitoring and troubleshooting systems and network infrastructure.

Identifying, researching, and resolving complex technical problems.

Providing advanced technical assistance to end users; documenting,tracking, and monitoring problems to enhance employees’ technology experience.

(Overseeing and ensuring the security of ICT systems and networks.

Sharing knowledge with colleagues and end users.

Creating and maintaining documentation for self-service and team knowledge base; sharing lessons with colleagues.

‘Taking ownership of high-profile, complex issues.

Involvement in purchase, forecasting infrastructure improvements and budgeting

‘Taking ownership for the IT Disaster Recovery process, ensuring the document is permanently up-to-date and Updates are communicated to the EMT.

Minimum of 3-5 years IT Experience.

Degree in IT, Microsoft professional qualifications or equivalent proven experience in a technical-support role.

Expertise and proven experience with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience of supporting Apple products including iOS and Mac OSX in an enterprise environment.

Ability to deal with all helpdesk issues, from simple first-line fixes to more advanced site visits and network issues.

Solid experience in IT support roles, with outstanding communication and customer-service skill.

Cisco CCNA, equivalent network certifications, or proven experience.

Experience of Windows Server 2012+.

Knowledge and experience of the following- Office 365 & Azure, Hyper-V or VMware administration, Web hosting support - IIS, load balancers, DNS, registering domains & certificates, exchange installation, configuration and maintenance, SQL Server installation and administration,

Skills in LANWAN TCPIP troubleshooting, hardware building and configuration, Firewall configuration and maintenance, VPN setup (site-to-site/client), Paolo Alto Firewall support, Cisco hardware ~ routers, switches.

Knowledge and experience of SharePoint, SAN storage ~ EMC, Team Foundation Server, SCCM, Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity


Solid communication skis.

Highly organised with great planning skils.

Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
